The Marriage Covenant

Covenant-

• a binding agreement between two people that involves promises on the part of each to the other

• to bind together

• binds two into one

• gives over to one another

Whenever the covenant is forsaken the husband and wife lose God's blessings. Stay true to your marriage covenant and remember that love is what you do for each other.

The husband is to lead, love, and sacrifice to help his wife develop into what God wants her to be.

How do we get past offense? I John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We must take ownership of our faults because anger causes bitterness, bitterness takes root, and we have a bigger problem

Let's fight for our marriage covenant by

• examining ourselves

• admitting our wrongs

• and apologizing.
